Tax Preparation & Planning
Income tax preparation represents a substantial thrust of the firm's resources. One of the main objectives in tax services is creative tax planning, as it applies to both individual taxpayers and small corporations and their shareholders. All individual and business tax returns are professionally prepared, including individual, partnership, corporation, retirement trust, fiduciary, payroll, sales, and excise returns.
Reviewing Returns
After a personal interview or other means of receiving information and/or documentation, state-of-the-art computerized software is used for return preparation. The final product is thoroughly reviewed to insure that the end result is accurate, and that the taxpayer is paying no more tax than the law requires.
Electronic Filing
Instead of mailing paper returns, Federal and state returns are transmitted electronically, resulting in faster refunds and far fewer governmental errors. The audit rate on electronically filed returns is significantly less than with mailed returns. Our standard practice has been to prepare and file all individual income tax returns electronically. For business returns, electronic filing became standard in 2006.
Financial Statements
The firm provides financial statement services including reviews and compilations for a wide range of businesses. These services assist management in evaluating historical and future performance.
A Complete Package
As one of our integrated services, the firm prepares client payroll, including employee and tax deposit checks. Included in these services is preparation of Federal and Georgia payroll tax returns, Forms W-2, and Report of New Employees. Superior reports and presentation are standard.
Direct Deposit
Direct deposit of employee payroll checks is available, which reduces employee banking time and the frustration of waiting in line. Ask us how it works!
Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS)
The Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) is now a requirement for Federal tax deposits. This reduces the client's burden of making trips to the bank to deposit payroll taxes and increases accuracy of deposit amounts and dates.
Bookkeeping
Office staff is continually trained in the latest bookkeeping techniques, so that clients can have all or just their complex bookkeeping tasks completed. Computer programs are used whenever possible to reduce input time and to enhance reporting. Tracking can be done for annual Forms 1099, and vendor check writing can be incorporated.
Computer Consulting (QuickBooks Pro Advisor)
Computer consulting is performed for clients when they maintain their own books and ledgers. The client's computer accounting file (usually QuickBooks®) is downloaded via CD, USB Jump Drive, or e-mail to one of our office computers. Adjusting journal entries are either made directly to the client's books and returned for uploading, or given to the client for posting.
